FAQ

2025 registration, event dates, locations and distances will be posted as updates occur. 
When and where does each event begin?
  • Each race is set around the nearest Full Moon in the summer months of July - September. 
For 2024
  • All Full Moon Events are on Tuesday Evenings
  • All Events begin at 6:00 pm
  • Strawberry Moon  - June 18 - Rocky River Nature Center - 3 Miler.
  • Deer Moon - July 23 - Pine Hollow CVNP - 4 Miler.
  • Sturgeon Moon - August 20 - South Chagrin Reservation - 5 Miler.
  • Harvest Moon - September 17 - South Mastick - 2 Miler & Cookout Celebration.
What are the deadlines for online registration?
  • Due to limited space at each location - each race will sell out at 300 total participants.
  • There is no deadline - these events will stay open until Sold Out.
How much does it cost?
  • 2024 Full Moon Trail Series registration opens January 1, 2024
  • Each trail race is limited to 300 total runners (75 individuals / 225 Series runners)
  • Full Moon Trail Series Registration Fees (all-4 events included & more)
    • Tier 1 - Registrants 1 - 100 - $120
    • Tier 2 - Registrants 101 - 200 - $130
    • Tier 3 - Registrants 201- 225 - $140
  • Individual Registrations - $28 until sold out (race bib included)

Will you send me a confirmation?
All registrations will receive confirmation via e-mail. Check your spam!
Can I run virtually?
Yes! As long as you registered for the Virtual Full Moon Trail Series, you can submit your times online. This is not offered for runners registered for the Live event.
  • If you are unable to attend any of the Live Trail Series events, you will not be penalized and you will still receive your finisher medal!
    But you will not be able to submit any virtual results online.
Virtual runners packets will be mailed to you shortly after the first race in June.

When can I pick up my race packet?
  • Runners will pick up their packet between 4:00pm-5:45pm at the first race at the Rocky River Nature Center.
  • If you can not attend the first race, your packet will be at the next event. 
  • Friends can pick up for each other, but you should have your confirmation email handy just to be safe.
How is this race timed?
  • This race is an officially timed event using one of the most advanced chip timing systems by MyLaps.
  • Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain on for the duration of the event.
  • You must keep your race bib for the entire Series! 
  • Split point mats are placed along the course for additional fun challenges - wearing your bib is required to participate!
Where can I see my results?
  • Results and NEW Series Scoring are posted in real time, directly after the race on the FullMoonTrailSeries.com race site.
What do I do if my results are incorrect or missing?
Does this race provide any kind of awards?
  • Yes, we will have awards for top finishers in each race and a formal Trail Series Awards Ceremony for the top 12 male and top 12 female point scorers in the Trail Series.
  • Additional Wildlife Awards are recognized for Trail Series participants only. 
Where can I park the day of the race?
  • Public lot parking is available near each of the four trailhead race locations. We recommend being parked an hour prior to each race start and at least 90 minutes early for the first race.
Is there a bag check?
  • No, there will not be a bag check. Parking is available close to the start of each event.

Am I able to bring my dog or a stroller to the race?
  • No – due to the limited space on the trails dogs and strollers are not allowed.
Is there a pace requirement? 
  • Due to limited time on the trails, we ask participants to maintain a 20-minute/mile pace or less.

 Refunds and Transfers
I can no longer participate in the race due to an injury or scheduling conflict, can I get a refund or transfer to another person?
Sorry, but all entries are non-refundable. Once we’ve received and processed your entry, you will not receive a refund, you may not give or sell your race number to other people, and entry fees are not transferable to the next year’s race. You are able to transfer to another person for free. This must be done prior to the first race of the season.
Transfer Information To complete a Transfer, go to your profile on Runsignup and chose either the refund transfer or gift transfer option. Enter in the Transferee’s name and email to send them the transferring registration. Once the transferee completes the registration, the original registrant is removed from the race.

If I am unable to attend and I have already registered, can I still get my t-shirt and packet?
  • Yes, you can pick those up at our office the following week or at one of the upcoming events – packets will not be mailed.
  • Please call the office ahead of time to let us know that you are coming, 216-623-9933.

Do I have to run, or can I walk instead?
  • You may walk any of the trail races.
What is the weather typically like for these races?
  • The weather in Northeast Ohio is always unpredictable! Sometimes the trails are full of mud and other times, dry and dusty. 
What should I bring to the race?
  • While this depends on personal preference, a typical race packing list includes your running shoes, TRAIL SHOES ARE ENCOURAGED, hand held water bottle, spare shoes/socks in case of inclement weather, layers or a change of clothes, a watch, and your registration confirmation. 
How long will each course be open?
  • The courses is will be open for late starters until 6:05 pm. Each event begins at 6:00 pm
Will you email me more information closer to the race?
  • Yes - Runners will receive updates throughout the Series and can expect email reminders leading up to the first race.
